Easy Chicken Lettuce Wraps Recipe
Using lettuce leaves can be an excellent alternative to all sorts of delicious meals involved tortillas! Get creative with your fillings and you will find this becomes a meal time favorite.
4 chicken breasts
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 Tablespoon cornstarch
1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 Tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and minced
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
2 Tablespoons sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded carrot
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 head iceberg lettuce leaves, separated
Slice the chicken into small bite sized pieces and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch. Add lime juice, ginger and brown sugar. Set aside
In large frying pan, cook chicken in sesame oil over medium heat about 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Add garlic and cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
Add the sauce mixture and stir in to coat the chicken.
To serve, carefully peel the leaves from the head of lettuce and set into a bowl for dishing out.
Each person can build their lettuce wrap by adding a spoonful of chicken, shredded carrots, and green onions.
